# Scaling Down

> Take your agent offline by deactivating all of its versions or a single one, and bring it back.

Deactivated versions stop running and stop using resources.

## Take everything offline

`zeroruntime down` deactivates every active version of the deployment. It lists them and
asks you to confirm.

```bash theme={null}
zeroruntime down              # confirm first
zeroruntime down --yes        # skip the confirmation
zeroruntime down --force      # also deactivate versions with active sessions
```

## Take one version offline

```bash theme={null}
zeroruntime version deactivate -v <version-id>
zeroruntime version deactivate -v <version-id> --force   # even with active sessions
```

<Warning>
  `--force` ends live conversations on that version. Check
  `zeroruntime session list` first.
</Warning>

## Bring it back

Reactivate an existing version, or deploy a new one:

```bash theme={null}
zeroruntime version activate -v <version-id>
zeroruntime up
```
